The Netflix for travel treads strong. The subscription model is here to save tourism.
What would you say if I suggest you a platform with almost unlimited access to airline tickets, hotels and leisure activities for a monthly fee?
I imagine this is not new for you. Flat rates have existed for many years now. However, they have become popular thanks to companies such as Netflix, Spotify, Amazon, Apple and Amazon among others. Therefore, this fad could also extend very soon in travel companies.
To have all services at the same platform would let the user choose from different travel services and it also would be very comfortable for the user and also advantageous for the touristic suppliers that will count on fix income and a high retention rate.
Access to hotels, restaurants, airlines, services in different destinations and everything for a monthly subscription fee. The travel industry needs to recapture the user offering him a high value, so the subscription pays off.
The great comfort that these type of models offer, makes them to get more and more subscribers every day. In addition to this, they have the advantage of being consumed through electronic devices. A very technological buying experience that is worth to test between the youngest “heavy users” of the travel sector.
There is no way back, the new business models of the travel industry have come to set up in the digital era. The most successful would the the ones who establish strategic alliances with local suppliers and the ones who offer the users in the same plataform different services and experiencies with a really attractive value. Those more loyal subscribers would be the ones that would receive the best advantages and also recommendations for their next trips and other added benefits.
A model with benefits for both parts. On one side, it would allow companies to get recurring revenue and generate a data base of captive customers strenghtening the classic loyalty programs. On the side of the users, the advantage would be very significant because in one platform they would find all the offer, they would also have all the services connected and in addition to that, they would receive recommendations to their tastes and travel preferences adapted to the user . All this, thanks to its algorithm.
The way we travel and move it is about to change thanks to the travel tech revolution.
